BÜNYAMIN SIMSEK
Born 1970 in Sarkisla, Tyrkey. Has lived and worked in Aarhus, Denmark, since 1972
 
Bünyamin Simsek is a member of Aarhus City Council for the party Venstre. He was elected to the City Council in 2002 and is Second Chairman of the Committee for Economic and Administrative Affairs. He is also a member of the Social Committee and the Committee for Equal Treatment of the Municipality of Aarhus. He is educated as a Building Engineer and has worked as Cabin Chief/Base Coordinator for the airline company Sterling from 1994-2003. Today, he works as Head of the Department of Business and Industry in The Municipality of Aarhus. Since finishing his education, Simsek has been active in community organizations to improve integration efforts. One of the first representatives of the first generation of immigrants to move into the Gellerup housing complex (a suburb of Aarhus, with a high percentage of immigrants and refugees) in 1972, he has experienced the development and the integration efforts at close range.
 
Contribution: Simsek has acted as a consultant for the curators of Minority Report and participates, on behalf of the consultant group, with an introductory speech during the opening reception of the exhibition on Saturday, September 25, 2004, from 7 – 9 pm in Station 1: The Equestrian Hall, Aarhus.
