ÖMER FARUK CERAN
Born 1977 in Aarhus, Denmark. Lives and works in Aarhus

Ömer has Turkish parents and is the first person in his family to be born in Denmark. Ömer grew up in Brabrand outside of Aarhus and decided at a relatively early stage to get an education and work within trade/economy. He is a graduate of Commerce and trained as an office worker at Amtsgården, Aarhus County, specializing in accounts. For about two years, he was working as an Accounts Consultant in Aarhus Country – only interrupted by his military service in the Civil Defence Forces, where he was also the spokesman for his division. Since 2000 – when he also became a father for the first (and only time!) of the daughter Ebru – Ömer has worked as an Accounts Employee and System Administrator in Aarhus County's Project Center, which merged into Jobcenter Djursland on April 1, 2004. At night, Ömer is studying at Aarhus School of Business and also tries to set aside some time for community work in the Anatolian Culture Association in Aarhus, of which he is a board member. The association organizes cultural and sports activities and works to better the integration of Turkish immigrants into Danish society. See www.anatolsk.dk.
